Hey guys, Honda guy here considering a ZX9R. Come talk to me about them...

Trying to pick some people's brains here. Can't decide between a CBR 954, and the ZX9R. I've read a lot of good things about both, and i've riden the CBR.....it's a bad ass bike. Just trying to get some good opinions on the comparison, and the ZX9R in general.

Any info is appreciated!!!

You are right that the Honda 954 is a mean one if you do not have a lot of experience for it is considered with other Litre bikes. I say so with knowledge of both the 929 & a 954 in my garage, but also a Yamaha YZF600r.

We do not know your experience on sportbikes which can throw you off under the slightest error in riding. For they are NOT forgiving bikes in the handeling end. So much will depend upon what you have been riding before & your experience.

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.

954 vs 9R

Well, assuming you are comparing the same model years, they are very equavalent in terms of horsepower, quarter mile times, and most measures of performance.

The key difference is that the 954 is going to be more of the "race bike" and the 9R is going to be a better all-rounder. The 9R is a more comfortable, do-it-all kind of bike. The 954 is a more hardcore rip-up-the-corners kind of bike.

So, it really depends on what you plan on using it for.

i have never rode the zx9r but i rode a 954 a few times a friend had and fell in love with it so when i had the chance to buy 1 there was no hesitation for me it was the honda all the way. I think the 954 is comfortable and i have rode a few different bikes
