1996 Kawasaki Ninja

Hey guys,

About 3 months ago, I purchased a 1996 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6E. It's a great little bike. I also got a repair manual for and it talks about 2 different models, one being the Ninja ZX-6 and the other being the ZZ-R600. It said in the US it was called the Ninja ZX-6 and everywhere else the ZZ-R600, but they are the same bike. The problem I have is that at Kelley Blue Book, they list a ZX600-E4 NinjaZX-6 and a ZX600-F2 NinjaZX6R. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the difference is or if there is a place that has this information.

ZX-6E vs ZX-6R

Yes, your bike as listed on the Kelley Blue Book is the ZX-600E4. Also more commonly known just as the ZX-6E or ZZR-600.

The listing showing "ZX-600F2/Ninja ZX-6R" is the same bike. In the U.S. it is known as the ZX-6R.

The ZX-6E and the ZX-6R are COMPLETELY different bikes. There is no similarilty at all between them. There are too many differences to list, but in a nutshell the R model is the more advanced, cutting-edge, race model. It was also the more expensive of the 2 and will probably show a higher book value in the Kelley Book.
