Transmission Noise

I'm a new rider on a new bike and have noticed that the tranny on my EX500 makes a pretty loud "kerchunk" between 1st and second (up and downshift) but is pretty quiet on 3rd and up. Maybe this is normal as I know bikes shift a little louder. I just want to make sure nothing is going wrong or maybe I am shifting it wrong. Thanks!

A pilot calls to the tower, "Tower, please call me a fuel truck."

Tower responds, "Roger. You are a fuel truck."

Flying is still the safest way to travel.

Thats probably not a good sign. My VFR started doing that, then suddenly on hard shifts into 2nd gear it would sometimes go into neutral. My guess is 2nd gear is on its way out. but im not an expert on this.
