K&N Filter pod size for '96 ZX6e??

Hey guys, installed a Yoshi full exhaust on my zx6e right before parking the bike for the winter, and it KILLED the bottom end. I bought a stage 3 jet kit today hoping this would help out, salesman told me for the stage 3, I should use individual filters (Pods?) but he didn't know what size to get and I don't have anything but a tape measure (plus the bike is in my parents garage) Anybody know what size I need for the filters?? He has some off brand (non-K&N) for around $10 each.

Roc87.........

Why the pods? Just install the FACTORY PRO 1.7 JET KIT for the "E". Short-term will be more $ but over the long-term you will be much more content.

The Stage 3 set-up will nulify the advantages of the "pressurized" RAM AIR SYSTEM! I will give you 2 examples. 1 pass will be "with" the 1.7 and the other will be the 1.7 "without" the "pressurized system".

2/22/2003 Irwindale 1.714 60' 7.372 @ 90.9 MPH 375' ELEV

The RAM AIR makes a difference........Not only on the "top-end" with the "pressure ducts" but on the "low-end" with the "low speed horns". You will need to do alot more "tweeking" if you use the pods. The Stage 3 will not be "screw-on & go". Besides, the "E"'s streetability will be a bit more "twitchy". I myself, have opted for the Stage 3 and changed my mind via my close friend and kick ass tuner.

Hope This Helps!

I already paid for the stage 3 kit........Could I just install a regular K&N in place of the stock filter, so it would still have the pressurized system? (I am in albuquerque which is roughly 5200 ft elev) Or have I already messed up????

(I should have asked the question before I ordered the kit!!!)

Question

Please answer these.........

1) What all is in the Stage 3 Kit?
2) Do you have the pods?
3) Will the pods fit w/ the air box bottom on (must be unobstructed)?
4) Will the air box cover fit* "properly" back onto the bottom?

* Both top and bottom box parts fit snugly WITHOUT obstructing air flow to the pods or "damaging" the pods.

If, at any one of these steps the air flow is obstructed OR the pods can not be intalled without "any" damage..........The "pressurized" air box can not be used "properly". If this is the case........See if the shop will give you an RA (Return Authorization) for refund or exchange. BTW......How did you pay for the purchase?

The purpose of the pressurized box is to help regulate the carbs and assist in the proper engine combustion for this particular machine.

Hope this helps......

1. ?
2. Don't have them yet, but will probably just order a drop in replacement K&N

The Stage 3 (K&N) jet kit was $129. I paid with a check card, if they will give me a credit or refund I'll look into that 1.7 kit you mentioned. Thanks for the help!!!
