Changing Gears While Wheeling

Aye, can anybody tell me how to or whats an easy way to change gears while in a wheelie. I already mastered the first gear wheelie to redline. Only thing, about a second after redline the bike just comes down. I tried shifting into second, but for that split second when I try and shift, the bike just comes down. Oh BTW, I clutch it up.

It's not real hard to do this but it takes practice. To change gears from first to second in a wheelie, don't use the clutch. You have to have the bike very close to it's balance point. Pull up on the gear lever then blip the throttle. It will slide right into 2nd, as you blip the throttle. You will want to make sure you are covering the rear brake, just to CYA. Always better to cover the brake and not need it than not cover it and really need it. At about 11 o'clock is the balance point, I change gears at about 10 to 10:30, if you roll out of the throttle too much it will come down on you. You just have to get used to blipping the throttle, and speed shift.

Ride it like you stole it, and keep the rubber side down.

I don't see that working for many ppl. As you have to be in the power band of the bike of the gear you are going into to keep it up. Now if you had a 1k bike and clutched it up at 9 or 10 grand then going to the next gear would still allow it to be in the power band.

Ride it like you stole it, and keep the rubber side down.

Smile when the snow clears

I'm gonna buy an 04 R1 this spring, for a good riding bike, I'll still keep the R6 road worthy, if at all possible. I just bought a SI cage, and round bar.
