Damping setup for stoppies

Do I need to stiffen the front suspension before attempting a stoppie?

Whenever I wheelie for more than 2 or 3 seconds I get massive wobbleage on landing. Sometimes almost enough to crash.

Sounds like you need a steering damper. I had one big tank slapper once coming down on the wheelie so I bought a SCOTTS ROTARY STEERING DAMPER from Hardracing.com I never had a problem again.

I also see many stunt rider use it because it easy to adjust on the fly. For Stoppies you just turn up the low speed valve on you damper.

Good luck and be safe

Hey Crescent Fresh,

A damper will surely help out. One thing you might also want to check is your steering stem bearings. Have you ever taken your hands off your bars while riding and had them shimmy a little? If so, get your bearings replaced. Makes all the diff in the world. Safe riding..
