Fender Eliminators

I have been looking at some fender eliminator kits. To me they just look like an expensive piece of aluminum/metal that I could make for $5 from a piece of sheet metal. Am I missing something? Has anyone made their own eliminators and have any suggestions on what works well? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I have made my own on 4 bikes now.

Basicly what you are buying in a elimitator kit is a set of directions on where to cut yourt fender off. The eliminator kit will allow your new mounting surfaces for your plate and directionals. If you pay attention, you can clip your tail and leave enough plastic to mount your plate and directionals without needing to purchase a FE kit.

all thats needed is a good eye, a straight edge, a sharp razor knife. patiance is key.

This practice will not work with all bikes. and if you dont measure first, you can cut too high and into any compartments under your tail.

Use the search function and see what you can come up with. look in the readers rides section aswell
