Flush Mount Turn Signals

Installed hotbodies flush mount turn signals on my F4i. Clear lens. Installation was a breeze for the signals and the flasher unit but getting the front fairing back on was ridiculous.

Are they as flat as they appear in the pic, or do they bulge out? They look like they wouldn't be visible from the front.
