Race plastics/headlight?

I just bought an ex-race bike to ride around and want to put a headlight in it. What would be the best way to save weight and have the best birghtness? I am thinking of driving lights but I dont know. Thanks in advance.

What have people done?

If you take it to inspection or get pulled over and it dosent have the proper markings on the lens they will fail you.

Right!! Make sure you get something that is DOT approved. If you get a stock light set up.....it is going to cost you, especially if you need a harness with it.

I am pretty sure that you have to check what your state permits. Check with a local (to you) inspection mechanic - they should have all the answers you need.
