chain and sprocket

I've read a few posts on here regarding chains and sprockets, but I wanted to see if anyone could help me out with my 2001 F4i. I would like more low end acceleration. I would like to be able to bring the front end a little easier, but I dont want it to come up and the blink of an eye if you know what i mean. My buddy suggested the 525 chain (stock), go one tooth down in the front and two up in the rear (vortex of course). Any input on this combo from some seasoned veterans would be appreciated. thanks guys.

I would try one tooth down in the front first. if you decide later you want more you can always go up with the rear later. plus a front sprocket is fairly cheap.

Like your buddy I would suggest 1 down in front and 2 up on the rear. I don't think you would really notice much dif just going down 1 on the front plus you may not be able to get all the slack out of your chain. Did this (1&2) on my ex's R6 and it did wheelie a bit easier. Your speedometer will be off however.
