Different carbs, airbox, ram-air setup, tank, ECU, sensors, radiator, hoses, radiator cap...the list goes on. Can it be done, sure!

heres the ticket. i have a 96 f3 with a 94 f2 motor in it. ready for the
info.
the motor bolts up. you have to use your 96 carbs since they have
a tps sensor. the other difference between the carbs are 2mm larger for the f3. also the f2 motor doesnt have the sensor for the speedo
that the f3 does.[im not running a speedo] all the electrical connectins
are the same except one color connector but wires are the same.
your will have to use a 96 air box. the exhaust works. ignition advancer is the same
between years. the spark unit is the same. everything is the same. but you will
have a problem with tuning. i had to get my rejetted small. my carbs originally had
140's or so in them when the guy was done he installed 122s[i think i know theyre
in the 120s] and there is a valve on the back of a f3 airbox that is controlled by
the speedo. youll have to take out the internals and bypass the the high valve to
full open and set the low valve to semi. my bike has a decent pull range on it.
from idle to 2500 nice 2500to 2900 a little flat[thus the valves] from 3k up to 11,800
the bike pulls steady no dropping. it makes 87.7 at the wheels which is around 100hp at
crank[in the neighborhood]this is with a full d&d pipe, and ignition advancer.

hope this helps

also on the f2 motors they have a vaccum feed fuel setup. and the f3 carbs have a coolant line going
into them from the water pump. to help atomize the fuel and air mixture when it is cooler outside.
