Lightbulb Painting a motorcycle frame???

Okay, powdercoating is much to expensive when it comes to doing the actual frame of a bike, but what do you guys think about the actual painting of a motorcycle frame? (Not over the anodized area), but over the rough cast area under the seat. Will it hold up? Will it last? Should I do it at all? Any tips will be appreciated!!!

Being a painter the only downfall I can see is being able to prep that area for paint. Where you planning on smoothing it out or just putting color right over the rough casted area?
