newbie windscreen question

OK, so this is probably gonna sound stupid, but I'm a newbie so I figure better to ask now when it's ok to look stupid. I have a 2002 ZX6R and am looking to replace the windscreen with a tinted one, probably a Zero Gravity . Question is, is there a real technical advantage to the "double bubble" design or is it just aesthetics?
Thanks!

from what I know it helps deflect wind better at speed.

Thanks! There's not a whole heckuva lot of difference in price so maybe it's worth it

ghbird....................Simply YES!

The DB will yield more than 1.5" and more of INCREASED deflective area! On a ZX6R you will be lovin' it..................really. On the "E" model it nearly removes all of the "head buffeting".

The upper on the ZX6R is designed so much better for aerodynamics. The DB will give you much more performance than the stock screen.

BAR NONE!

good luck with zero gravity. waited a month and it never came. ordered double bubble from lockhart and it got there in 3 days. lockhart's extremely fast, less expensive, and great quality.

Wink

Mine took two weeks...................But was a prototype DB for the ZX6E! FYI............To order products that are already distributed, such as the DB for the 9R, your best bet would have been to order it through PARTS UNLIMITED!

Primarily due to auto replenishment factors on both ends, may be the reason for their B/O on stock. The Zero Gravity management is very cool and do their best. I AM SORRY THAT ANYONE HAS HAD ORDERING DIFFICULTIES!

The DB is an outstanding screen and the best I've tested bar none!

I ordered mine...

through Kiernan Racing (www.kiernanracing.com) and got it in about 6 days. Zero Gravity DB, tinted.

Looks like he has them for the ZX-6R too.

$69.95.

AND, I love it. It made a big difference in wind buffeting.

Hey ghbird--still want to go riding sometime??

It does feel a lot better at high speeds, when you hunker down it wont feel like your heads going to rip off. Really makes a difference on the gsxr, will REALLY make a difference on a ninja!
