750ss question

Hi everyone. I have been looking for a bike for the past couple of months now. It would be my first street bike. A friend of a friend is selling his 2000 750ss for 5k. It is a very clean bike with no straches and only 2600 miles. He is in the army and never has time to ride it and he just came back from Iraq. I just wanted to know you guys thoughts on this bike and how it would fit a beginner. Also, curious as how much it would cost to put full-farings on it. thanks

That's a lot of bike for a beginner. Expensive if ya drop it.

A few ccs short of a full litre.

Thumbs up 750ss question

I had a 2001 750ss as my first bike. It had just enough power for me. If you play it too safe and get a really under powered bike in about 2 weeks you will be tired of it. If you go buy two powerful of a bike you will spend all your time trying to control all the power instead of dev. your skills. I feel that this bike sits right in the middle of both. But the first thing you should invest in is a cycle-cat frame and clip-on slider kit. The most costly part of the bike is the tank and plastic.
