Spring rate for mono vs. bi...

Are the spring rates on superbikes for the biposto higher than for the monoposto to compensate for the pillion rider?

They are indeed higher for the biposto than for the monoposto, and yes, it is to compensate for the potential addition of weight. If you have a biposto and consider doing some serious riding, then best to get your suspension set up looked at by a specialist.

I did exactly that, only to find out that there had been a cock up at the factory and my bike was fitted with a stiffer spring than a biposto - which kinda suits me anyway cos I'm not a small lump!

Thanks for the reply, mate.

I decided to go with an Ohlins shock and HyperCo springs in the rear and RaceTech springs for the front forks.
