2000 996 question

I just picked up a 2000 996, which is fantastic. I didn't get the owner's manual, however.

This is my first fuel injected bike, and I have a question regarding a small button on the Throttle cable housing. Is this a fast idle button for startup? How does it work? Does it automatically pop out, or do you have to turn it off?

Yes it's a fast-idle button for warm up. Push it in and you're on fast idle; move the throttle as if you were decelerating to release it.
