For drag racers the longer wheelbase helps keep the front wheel on the ground during launch.

For non-drag racers is just appearance, IMO.

I guess if you're in to that kind of thing. I don't care for the look personally, and it degrades handling. But to each their own.

For whatever you feel is necessary to look different & more advanced then other riders UNLESS you are actually into drag racing, but then a far, far different matter & costs.

Sort of like why change the regular paint finish to something more to your liking for it is your money which could be used for fuel, oil, tyres, chains, sprockets & such down the road of fun riding especially if you feel the latter will not be needed or you have money bulging out of your pockets.

Mind you if you are a poser then that is totally different in the world of lots of riding AND you would not have to ask such a question.
