Los Angeles Riders

Hey, I'm going to LA for a few days, and though I will be confined confined to a cage, I am looking for some nice mountain roads to go exploring. I've got no local knowledge of the area and don't know how many roads are closed off for the fires. Are there any riders in the area that can recommend some nice roads through the mountains? I'd appreciate it.

You don't want to be on any mountain roads near LA right now.

But to answer the original question, there are numerous roads up the San Gabriel mountains that lead to some nice driving and hiking. Mount Palomar road is a lot of fun. At least it gets you out of the valley, and on a good day above the smog layer.

Found a couple. 39 outside of Azusa, and then CA-2. 39 was closed a few miles up, but the 2 went all the way to the other side of the mountains. It was a fun test for the '08 Grand Prix they gave me. Not much problem from the fires. Could see them while flying in, but the smoke hasn't been as bad as I'd anticipated.
