Speed is definately addicting

I dunno about anyone else here, but on the cities and basically everywhere I go i do about the speedlimit or 5 over, nothing else. So when i get an opprotunity of a clear straight highway I seem to take advantage of it. Only bad thing is that I very rarely get that opprotunity, and i feel like i'm hooked on the feeling. Oh well being safe is more important always, so i can wait...

Anyone else have that feeling tho the want to push it?

Of course it wants to go fast, inline 4s only comes out alive after 8K rpm. Anything below that, it feels dull. Problem is once out of 1st gear, 8k rpm means at least 70 mph for a 600.

The faster your run her, the better the engine will run. They are designed to love the high end. I enjoy running it high and hard when I can as well, but yea, its not often I get the chance.

Now i know with cages the lower the RPM (generally speaking) the better the MPG... Is this true with bikes? I ususally run that thing at like 3500 rpm LOL! I love hearing it get "angry" at about 7500 rpm. But i am curious as to if it will affect my gas mileage if i rev it high(er)...

Yup, the gas mileage will be much reduced, as much as losing 60-70 miles per tank if you were to run above 11k rpm in 2nd gear all day long.

What about keeping it at around 7k rpm? I know its hard to just come up with a number, but i do try to economize by essentially "boggin it" at 3500rpm

I don't have any current pics of my bike since its mid rebuild on the fairings, here is a pic of it after the last paint job... which lasted all of 7 days... As soon as I figure out how I'm going to mount my rear views I'll be painting it with truckbed liner and Ill post some new pics.
