Maine and Police

Bangor, ME
State Trooper was running radar. He had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting any. Then he discovered the problem.

A 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a
hand-painted sign which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD!"

The officer later found a young accomplice, on down the road, with a sign reading, "TIPS" and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

Saco, ME
A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an
automated radar post in Saco, Maine. A $40 speeding ticket was
included.
Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40.
The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.

Couldn't find the first one though I'm not sure of its validity. The second occurred in CA, not ME: http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/handcuff.asp

Gotta love that snopes!

The first one may have happened, but its also a urban myth I've heard a 100 times. If it happened, it happened because someone copied the myth.

I got mailed a ticket from Wyoming about running a red light, I didnt send any cutey picture back though, I just called the police station and laughed at them, since they dont cooperate with wisconsin, and I'm never going back to Wyoming. They call me ever once in awhile to remind me i have a warrant out for unpaid citations there.

Wooopeee doooooo.

That makes 6 states I cant ride in now. Wyoming, Colorado, New York, Arizona, Ohio, and Alabama.

Hi kypdurron62-

Plus you have a perfect and valid excuse for why you can't drive when your friends want to roadtrip someplace!

Makes sense to me Blue Jays. My replacement to my Mazda 4X4 truck is a Subaru Forester. So the rear seats are folded down with stuff of top of them while more stuff, at the foot area of said seats, if said seats were to be used by anyone wanting to use them.

The only "passenger" in my truck were my parents, when alive, just to see how the truck performed with words of "no smoking" for said run. Another h/gunner for we swamp vehicles to cut down cost of fuel & wear going to & from the gun range. In both cases the "passenger" calls out what he can see, regarding traffic, from his side & that is all the talking we do prior to getting into the vehicle & once at the range.

Considering all the yatter I put on the board, when it comes to driving, like riding, my concentration is on the traffic & not reloading matters or politics or whatever.
