2 piece or 1 piece

I tried to search for this but I couldn't find what I was looking for so I apologize in advance if this has been said a million times before but:

For the occasionaly track day (beginners class) would a 1 piece or 2 piece suit be the best? I already have all my street gear so this would be used strictly for the track.

I'd go with a 2 piece, you never know when you gonna want to wear just the jacket, and it seems easier to crawl out off quickly. (see the omg I got owned by a girl... thread)

But I never had a 1 piece, so I dont really know

The folks I've talked to who used two piece at tracks often wished they had gotten one pieces. Mostly it was an issue of bunch-up at varying point that was distracting.

just need to make sure it fits good and right. 2-piece would be better if your planning on hitting the track once or twice a season. Otherwise, anymore, might as well spend money on getting a track-only one piece with a back protector.

If you are rarely doing a trackday and don't plan on being aggresive or taking chances, I would go with the two piece. Make sure the two-piece has a 360 degree zipper around the waste. The bad thing about two-pieces that dont have the full zipper is you could get rash on your lower back or stomach if your jacket gets pushed up in a crash.

Obviously a one-piece you don't have to worry about the suit splitting at the waste, but you also don't have the luxury of just wearing a jacket.
