Does anyone else look like crap after a long ride?

Today I was out for hours, maybe its cuz im irish and pale as all hell, and I have contacts, but man when I get off after a long ride, my face is all red, nose, and my eyes are so bloodshot it looks like I've been smoking Mexico's entire stash of ditchweed.

Kinda kills the whole macking on girls thing now that I'm single when I take off the helmet and I look like absolute crap lol.

Hi kypdurron62-

You're thinking about your ex-girlfriend way too much. Don't worry about the placement of every strand of hair, lines of your face from padding, and/or splattered insects.

My favorite trick for riding to visit distant friends, college reunions, parties, and things like that is to pack a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush, a soft cotton rag soaked in Pledge Wax in a ziplock bag, and a small comb.

At the edge of town stop at a gas station to brush your teeth and hair...the boost to your self-confidence will ensure you carry yourself better. Use the soft rag soaked with Pledge Wax to clean your helmet, leathers, and motorycle of bugs and dirt. You'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling great and smelling lemony fresh.

"Clear eyes makes red eyes clear..." lol

Get some eye drops to put in at the station when you stop. It could be due to the wind that gets inside your helmet while riding, or a minor vacume in the helmet or something. I usually don't have problems on long rides unless it hot. I rode for 3 hours today, in 96+ degree weather with full gear and a 45llbs pack, and looked like a wet poodle when I got off. Ehh, I wasn't going anywere important anyways.

Get some rewetting drops... I have this great stuff that's called "Blink and Clean" that works wonders after riding and is made for contacts.

oh god dude get the lasik surgery! my eyes were BAD like i could see about 9-10 inches infront of my face clear, then it was all blurry as hell my script was like in the 8. somethings. i wore hard contacts for about the first month of riding and yea, it was doable but not the best. after corrective script is like 0.5...any thats because i had to get the PRK dont (slightly older than the lasik) cause my eyes were so bad and they would have to cut to much cornea or thing i have ever done, it might not seem so to ppl who have had good vision, but its a litle life changing.

beeing able to see the alarm clock in the morning without fumbleing around for my glasses is like the high point of my day

ok here's the trick....

go to a state that has no helmet law, i.e. florida

drive to a busy strip with young horny girls, i.e. panama city beach

roll down the strip on your bike

when chicks check you out, because they will, just pat the back seat. if they are walking down the street, ridin in a car, swimming, i dont care, they will still come jump on your bike

proceed back to your hotel

if you dont know what to do from here, then im sorry but you're hopeless

problem solved

dont be a woman, stop cryin about how you look, no chick will ever care, they just want you for your bike, and you just want them for one thing too

Neller - try to be a lil more diplomatic with your sarcasim darlin... it's border line for moderation

btw - yes many of us look like shit when we take our helmets off - can't say I've ever had the bloodshot eye problem though...

smooshed down hair yes - which is practically hopeless to fix (for me anyways)

but I ride to ride not to look pretty so I usually dont' worry about it...

Don't worry so much about it Man. I have heard from a number of ladies that the possesion of a bike increases your hotness level by 10% anyway.

Stuff a ball cap or a skull cap in your jacket, or your trunk. That'll take care of your hair. You could shave your head too. Bring some eyedrops and a pair of Oakleys or something to take care of your eyes.

I keep a travel pack of baby wipes in my trunk to clean the bug guts of my helmet and visor. I never worry about my jacket until I get home.

Visine LR or LE or something like that. Its the yellow label. The stuff is simply amazing, there isnt a red eye that wont get cured with that stuff. The hair problem can be remedied by simply shaving your head. Now the smell combination of full leather and 100deg heat... well I dont think there are any quick solutions to that one...

Side note: I was feeling particulalry unsociable after a certain ride, but had to take care of a few things, and knew I was going to be dragged into conversations I had no desire to be in once inside. Then it hit me. Put visine in only one eye. Makes ya look like you got pink eye and people avoid you like the plague.
