i need to flush and fill the cooling system on the bike i just bought.
i wanted to know if i could use the gallon of prestone 5/150 antifreeze i got lying around from my dexcool car or do i need to buy something else. also is 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water good or should i change that ratio? please let me know. by the way i'll be riding in temps 60-90 and just cruising, and i got a 97 zx-6r. thanks for any replies anyone leaves.

50/50 is good unless you are planning on track days

Some Hondas, the Goldwing and CBR1100XX for example, are picky about antifreeze type...the waterpump seals will fail if the incorrect one is used. I don't know if Kawasaki has this issue. Make sure the antifreeze is aluminum safe (should say on the container) and consult your owners manual for type. Call the dealer if you don't have a manual and you MAY get an intelligent response. I have read/heard bad things about Dexcool...but thought that was a Texaco brand?
