General Questions - FI Glitches

How common are these FI glitches? Are they less reliable than carbs? Carbs basically require cleaning and synching and they're good to go. But recently, I noticed there are many reports of FI glitches or ECU freezing up on 2001-2003 gixxers, F4i's and 03-04 CBR 6RRs. Usually, injectors are clogged or ECU froze or shorted out from battery jump starts. And I heard only dealers take care most of these problems? I never had a FI problem with cars. So just wondering if getting a bike with FI may also prove to have complex disadvantages?

Bike FI is not nearly as sophisticated as car FI, but they are generally reliable.

The FI light on my 01 came on for about a week sporatically. I went over my whole bike making sure wire connections were tight etc. and I never saw the light again. Must have been something small.
