Locking up your bike

Hey Guys,
Living in LA I'm a lil concerned about hte safety of my bike, even though I park it in a gated apartment community garage. I park next to a support pillar, would you guys suggest I lock it up to the pillar or possibly buy some other safety equipment?

What's the word on locking up your bike?

YES!! Chain it to anything you can with the thickest chain you can get, and be sure to set the alarm, too!! It only takes a few guys, a pickup, and a bolt cutter to get your bike.
Can you park it inside your apt??? That's your best bet!

Do you guys recommend any chains/locks for securing the motorcycle? I've seen a couple of different ones out there. Disk brake locks, chains, etc. Which one works best?
