Busa/1000 cc motors in 600/750 bikes

I have seen a lot of 1000 & 1300 motors in 600 & 750 bikes on the ebay lately, is there any info on how to cram one of these in a smaller bike?

Has anyone here done this?

My question is why? Look at the new Gixxer and Zx-10, they are basically the size of a 600 but built to handle the extra power. Maybe there would be reasons back in the day when litres were so much bigger, but not now.

Of course this doesnt take the Busa into account, but a bike that powerful needs the extra bulk for stability in my opinion.

Hi All-

If the technicians at the Suzuki factory could have safely shoehorned a Hayabusa motor into a GSX-R600 frame, they would have done it by now. It would probably be way too squirrelly otherwise.

The only logical reason i can think of anyone doing that is for racing purpose. Say a biker on an r6 with an r1 engine inside pulls up to another STOCK r6 with a close year make. R1 engine guy offers to race for a few bucks. Assuming both riders are exprienced it would be an even race, but since one is packing the extra punch wouldn't that give him an obvious upperhand? Expecially when the stock r6 guy thinks he's racing a bike just like his? just a thought....
