Question Speedo is way off

I currently own a 04' Honda CBR600f4i. Today while I was cruising I had my father drive at 45mph constant. My speedo was reading 55-60mph while I was following him. I know bike speedos are off by a good margin at high speeds buut is it normal for it to be this inaccurate at low speeds?

Well 10% is suppose to be in the high normal range, you are getting readings closer to 30%. Sounds like it might be time for a speedo healer or something of the sort.

Has the gearing been changed at all?

Not to my knowledge(sp?). It has only one other owner who did some cosmetic and exhaust modifications. I think the dealer would have told me he changed the gearing if he did since they said they did a full check up on it. Where can I find these speedo healers at a reasonable price?

Thanks

You might want to check your bikes odometer by using highway mile markers. I have a speedo healer on my bike and it works great. Besides the speedo error, I was gaining .2 miles for every mile I actually rode. So every 100 miles I rode, my odometer would say I rode 120 miles. Since I want to sell this bike after next season, I figured lots of ghost mileage wouldn't be good!
