Looped a wheelie...

...on my police mountain bike tonight!

(Gotcha!)

I was working the Rosemary Clooney Festival tonight on bike patrol with my partner and we were tooling around on our bikes just sort of roaming around the perimeter of the festival.

We were talking about my sudden lack of wheelie ability on my YZF (he has a Katana 750) and I decided to see if I could find the balance point on my brand new 21" Giant Police mountain bike. After all, it has to be the same concept, right? Anyway, I popped the front end up a couple of times after making sure the streets were clear of potential witnesses and figured I wasn't getting nearly high enough. So I give the bars a big tug and up it comes, right to a 'floating' point! I have just enough time to think "All right, this is working!" and to decide to pedal forward to ride it out when I flip over backwards and land flat on my back. Woo!

My thoughts were kind of like "All right, got itaaaaaaaaashit." Thud.

Just thought I would share something funny happening to a cop. If I had a video of that, I could make a mint!

Good one...

In God, we trust; all others must provide data.

Actually, I couldn't run, since I whacked the back of my helmet and then had a headache for the rest of the night. Jumping right back on and riding up a giant hill was mostly just bravado on my part, as I would have rather just cruised around for the next 10 mins while I got my wits back.

For a second there I almost felt bad! Now, I'm just laughing at you. At least you kinda, sorta found bp. But yes, I would have enjoyed watching a video of that!
