2004 Yamaha R6...salvage need some Advice.

I saw a 2004 R6 3800ish miles on Craigslist...was intrested and went down to see it with a friend.....everything looked good was fixed up clean had some add ones....Rode it and it ran smooth couldnt feel anything odd or weird on the test ride....frame looked fine. He's selling for 5000 $ doesnt it sound like decent deal or what? I dont care much for re sale value....I dont plan to re sell it anytime soon and its registerable already....has already been inspected and such....what do u think? Pic below.

Personally I will never deal with a salvage bike, atleast not here in NY. I heard stories about how they lock you in a room and if they find anything illegal on your car they are inspecting you get arrested. Dunno if they are true but I would rather just have something running.

$5k is high for a salvage.

No joke. In NY if you have a salvage vehicle you have to take it to the DOT or something and they inspect it, you have to have all the papers in orders for new or used parts, such as titles and receits depending on the pieces. Supposedly if you dont have the papers for a piece they may suspect you of stealing it. However I heard this all from a friend so I dont know how legit it is. Then again NY BLOWS.
