Although I LOVE both these bikes (Wow!!!), part of me is really annoyed they keep significantly changing the bikes every other year or so... Kinda sucks to have your bike out-dated in just the next model year or two after pitching out 10 grand, plus the parts are a bit more difficult to come-by, or rather, not as abundant as let's say, bikes that have gone 4 model years without any significant changes.

reading from articles, R1 is also coming out with Limited Edition with more Ohlins stuff and lighterwheels and higher price tag. but it's not redesigned, so it's carrying over the looks and feel of 04 R1.... that's 3 years of stability, no revamped change.

Great to see like the Gix 1K K5, Yamaha is trying new innovation for their exhaust. No underseat pipe for 06 R6.

maybe I'm just dumb but, that exhaust isn't what shows on yamaha-motors.com - is it an option or something like that?

Is it just me or did Yammy remove what we thought was going to be the 06 R6 from their website. Not the same bike anymore? What gives?

Yamah usually does that, at least I think that's what they did before with new bikes, not sure. It's sort of like limited preview, and then they'll yank it right off until it's fall time again and competitors start posting their products and everyone starts making deposits. You'll see that 06 R1 LE and R6-S are still there, but only 06 R6 and FZ1 are gone... because they're completely new.

If you wanna take a look at the images Yamaha had of the new R6, you can go here:

The bike is up again at their website, their reasons for removing:

In our enthusiasm, we inadvertent-
ly released more 2006 information on Sept 1 than had been planned based on a worldwide marketing agreement. Full information will be released at 9:00AM P.D.T. on Wed., Sept 28th.
They also removed most of the pictures and 360 view of the bike.

17.5 redline? Fack...

And that swingarm is damn sexy.

The nose looks agressive as hell head-on.
