Off Pavement SV650?

I have a 01 SV650(naked) and am running into a lot of dirt roads I want to ride. I currently have BT020 tires, they do not like gravel roads. What’s my best bet, change the tires to Metzeler Tourance or Michelin Anakee or get a 19” front wheel off a DL650 and change the tires. What do you think?

Strictly road tyres & a bike designed for just paved road use is what you have. The change of tyres will not do the job & the days have gone of where we use to modify the Brit street irons over for flat tracking, dirt hill climbing, MXing, Enduro, Cross Country, Observed Trials, & such.

Even the Brits started to design bikes for dirt comp & when Jpn makers got into the pictue once they had bikes up to over 250cc they to did the same. Entirely different bikes. Just look at a real dual purpose bike & you will see dramatic reasons of why a street iron will NOT be ideal for dirt riding in the dirty hill roads or off a bit farther like a road hacked out for loggers.
