Kaws auto cam chain tensioner doesn't? The 12 is my third or fourth Kaw with an auto cam chain tensioner, and it's started to make that loose cam chain noise. I know a couple of ways to bring it back to life, but I don't think I've ever had one that really worked very well. Do any of you notice that chattering sound that's loudest when the motor is cold, and at low rpms?

P.S. Rugburn, "You're the man that made my Pappy lose his chaw?!!" You're killin me man!!

This has been a problem with all (12) of the Kawasaki's that I have owned. In fact just this past weekend I fixed it on my 98ZX9R.

(This is also a problem on a lot of Honda CBRF2's)

Hey don't forget Suzuki's, they do it too!!.
I don't think it is anything to worry about, I've spoken to many people about the matter and all have told me to not worry about it.

All you have to do move the tensioner back and forth and lube it a little. I only noticed mine because I happened to be going through the bike for next race season.

Haven't noticed it on my Kawasaki, but mine is air/oil cooled and only has 1,400 miles on it...
