That's a shame, I like reading his articles. My condolenses to his family and Motorcyclist magazine on a fine editor.

That truly sucks. Goes to show you even the
best can fall victim. It only takes 1/2 a
second. My deepest concern for all of this
family and friends. Be careful out there
guys. I know I took a trip to North Jersey
this weekend (Where I am now) and I took my
chances - when I got tired of traffic I
started weaving alot at 100+. (I) Need to be
more careful.

Chris

Thumbs down

McQuide died???? That really suck's!!!!
How many of us watched him highside the gsxr750 on the latest edition of Motorcyclist? Then John Burns took a harmless potshot at him saying "the bike is faster then the rider even at a moderate pace" I felt bad for him then and now I'm really bummed out, And I don't even know the guy.
My condolences to his family & friends.

I can't believe it...

I just met him at the Hoot this past Friday morning. He was at breakfast conducting a Q+A session on high performance bikes.

I've enjoyed his work in Motorcyclist, it was fun to see him play the role of the FNG at the magazine. Very friendly guy, he didn't even flinch when I approached him and said, "Hey, you're Greg McQuide!"

Then, on Saturday morning, we grabbed an Asheville paper that said a 30 year old man was killed on I-40 trying to avoid a truck. Man, that really bothers me... my condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

It really hits home when something like this happens. Expert rider, good guy, probably doing nothing wrong. It shows one of the more special aspects of motorcycling to me; it feels like you've lost a good friend even though most of us only know him from his writing and TV. I think I'll always remember the sheepish grin he had on his face after the highside on national TV. He seemed like a good guy and will definitely be missed. God speed, McQuide.

I just realized what my quote is on the bottom of my posts. Please don't think I'm being insensitive, it's my stock message.
