Question

I'm thinkin' about gettin another bike - not that I'm not content with my Kawi - I just want something else as an all-arounder. In short, I'm going to keep my 7R for fun in the twisties, etc., but I also want something for commuting and some heavier sport-touring (preferably something torquey). Oh, and I want something with more than 750cc (maybe a 900 or 1000 or more).

Any suggestions?

And no, I will not be insulted if you recommend a Honda.

Speed Triple, VFR, BMW...Get something with some character! Try a vintage bike...cheap and easy to work on as long as it isn't British or Italian! I'm looking for a mint condition '69 CB750...now that would be kick ass! Variety is the spice of life as long as it isn't a Milwaukee twin! AAARRGGH! My boat already has an anchor!

Thumbs up

Out of those id have to say the 929. It has tons of power, and is pretty damn comfy as well. I am 6'3 240 and it fits me great. I would never own a kawi or suzuki j/k so those are out and the yami is an awsome bike (minus the shifting problems) but wouldnt be the best bike for long trips. I would see go for the 929 and if your a kawi fan go for the zx9. The zx9 makes for a good bike on long trips as well. But like i said i wouldnt own a kawi

Talking

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! You want a Honda! I was right! Welocome to the other side.

Seriously tho, try out at CBR1100XX or the new ZX12R. Both are very awesome bikes.

Now that you are coming to your senses I am glad you see the truth about Hondas.

And second - damn, that's a-lot-a bikes.

Wink

Get a VTR1000. They are obviously slow, underpowered, heavy bikes suitable only for commuting and/or touring.
Nothing like your 7R, of course.

Let's start with the Big Four.
Here are my first choices:

Kawi 12R
" ZX-11
" 9R

Honda 929
" RC51
" XX

Suzuki 'Busa (Nah....too ugly)
" Gixxer 1000 (2001 model)

Yamaha R1

I'm trying to figure which ones would be more suitable for longer rides, while still being able to take the twisties once and a while. Comfort is key. No.....power is key. Then comfort.
