a few weeks ago i was cruizing to work at the speed limit & i usually ride the dotted lane line so i can be seen in side view mirrors longer. u know that feeling that u get thats like something touching you even though it doesnt? well i got that when a harley flies by me missing me by inches. so i follow him & he his darting in & out of traffic, so i have to check him.. i pass a bunch of cars in an on ramp exel lane & wave good by.

today on the way to work i was running late.. so i was speeding like crazy.. & i come up on this guy again (kinda hard to miss him.. harley, black leather armoured jacket, dockers) & he is doing the same thing.. cutting people off.. some lady that he cut off i couldnt get around & she got mad at me.. so i looked her in the eye & flipped her off.. not the greatest sportbike pr but she deserved it.

just thought i would point out u dont have to be on a "ninja" to be a squid.

No bolts anymore. These days it's all done with ball bearings.

SpeedFreak, just remember that each cage driver is a "voter" and between the government and the insurance compaines, they would love to see all of us who ride, be taken off the roads for the safety of the general (cage driving) public!!!

Might just want to cool the jets next time and pass when it's clear, without the "finger flying" JMHO.

Take care, Ride Safe but have FUN!

I'm riding home from Daytona beach when I hear this truck behind me. I check my mirror and it turns out to be some dude on a Harley. Well I'm cruising so he starts to pass, thankfully in his own lane. I look over to see if he will make eye contact or acknowledge me (I speak/wave at all two-wheelers), anyway he doesn't look over. But wait, this guy must have a death wish, he was smoking a cigarette. I slowed way down. If you can't smoke at the pump what makes him think he can smoke on a Harley ? All the way home I kept expecting to see a burnt spot in the road where he blew up.

Does smoking on a bike qualify for squidDUM ????

Where I live the motorcycle messengers (that's despatch riders for our overseas readers) smoke AND talk to HQ on their cell phones while riding. Not on Harleys, however. Usually on an old Honda Nighthawk 750 with a huge dent in the tank, three broken turn signals and a thing that looks like a dead eye socket where the headlight used to be.

Oh yeah, and they're usually passing me while smoking and talking on their cell phones.
