The Ten Commandments of Motorcycling.

The Ten Commandments
(of motorcycling, with apologies to Moses)

Thou shalt be attentive in thy travels, lest thee be taken unawares.

Thou shalt protect thy noggin, for it is not so hard as thou thinkest.

Thou shalt protect thy passenger as thyself.

Thou shalt maintain respect for thy motorcycle lest it rise up and smite thee.

Thou shalt befriend thy front brake and squeeze it firmly in time of need.

Thou shalt scan aggressively lest roadway hazards surprise thee and smite thee on thy tenderparts.

Thou shalt know thy limits and reside within them, for therein lies safety.

Thou shalt practice thy swerve diligently so it will be available when thou needest it.

Thou shalt make thyself conspicuous lest thee pass unnoticed and meet with unforeseen disaster.

Thou shalt not get stupid, for stupidity begets a multitude of pain and misery.

Great find! Good advice too!

This one cracked me up:

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all of fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomanical, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. - Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion
