Can i put a Trailer on Civic?

Hey im a newbie and was wondering if i could put a trailer on a 98 Honda Civic LX. If so where do i go to get the hitch to attach to the car and how much would it cost.

I looked in my car maual and it said the car wasnt designed for that but i figure a trailer and one bike shouldnt be that bad. and i would only be driving with it on for no more than 5 hours. Any advice..

I put a hitch on a 1400cc VW Bug & hauled one or two dirt comp irons to the races. True I had to have it custom made, but did the trick, next on a old CJ-5 Jeep 4-pot flat head & progressed up to a newer Jeep of '66 or '67 with stupid F head with latter two being a sinch & finished off with a Mazda B2200 truck & quite common to be hauling 3 comp irons in 60s & 80s on the latter three.

I think just about any U-Haul will put a hitch on your car. It's at least worth a try. I'd guess around $100 maybe?

Civic hitch

I wouldn't see why not. Most cars are rated to tow at least a little bit. I just looked up an article indicating that a 1996 Civic is rated to tow 1000 lbs. Trailer plus bike should be at or just under that weight, so you should be fine.

As already stated earlier, U-haul should have what you need. I'd expect $150-$200 including a light kit.

I think of all the times I had that poor old '47 Jeep hauling four large fruit bins of apples or HEAVY pears up & down the twisty roads to the packing house. Man that was a lot of weight over the amount permitted & did the same with the later Jeep.

Mind you after a few yrs they demanded we put brakes on the trailers & I did, but they were totally usless still no one tested the weight of the flat deck trailer let alone all the wt of the fruit bins.

It was a day in & day out procedure from small, in height fruit bin (soft fruit like cherries, 'cots, peaches & prunes) which I would stack 3 high so actually as tall as the large fruit bins for apples & pears. Like from early in July till late in September ever darn yr bar some of the dramatic freezes.

Jenna Jameson could suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch.

Does she even do porn anymore?

I couldn't imagine having sex with her. It'd be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.
