So I am on my way home from the home inprovement store with my wife.....we're out in the country, not too far out but headed out of town & back home. We come to our intersection. Our road has no stop sign but the cross street does that we are turning onto, the speed limit is 55 mph. I see a yellow and black bike coming down the hill toward us, looks like a 929 or something. The rider pitches his bike into a mean stoppie, probably around 35 to 45 mph. Looked sweeeeet!! Problem? Yeah...he is going to make a left onto the street we are turning onto, yet he gives no turn signal, gets nearly rear-ended by a utility truck behind him and gets pretty close to crossing the double yellow into our path. So now this guy is behind us.....I look in my rear view just in time to see him do a wicked stand up........right up to the point where he nearly ate *#@! into my rear bumper. Lucky for me this guy lives in my subdivision so I am going to get to talk to him in the next few days and he was wearing a helmet!
Point? Ride safely. This guy is the exact reason us as riders get labeled. Did you notice my other bike? Yet I still do a wheelie every-now-and-then and do speed on occassion. The difference? There is a time and place for it all. There is a BIG difference between an empty stretch of interstate and a crowded intersection.
Keep it safe guys and live to ride another day. That's all that really matters.
