What are you thoughts on these...

I have seen a couple bikes on the road apparently with these kits hooked up to them. They flash the headlights in the daytime constantly. At night there is a sensor that stops them from flashing, however; you can have it rigged to your horn so when you honk your horn at night the lights flash. A couple other features to them as well. Now that I have my bike i'm all about saftey. The other kit was for the brake lights...they pulse 3 times and then stay lit for a few seconds and repeat. I will more than likely get both kits...wanted to hear your oppions.

Thanks

It sounds like a good idea to me. Anything that helps you get seen can't be bad.

I have the headlight modulator and the rear turn signal modulator units on my bike, and glad I have them.

Fuster, so no problems like battery drain or electrical for that matter?

I agree Tipp, nothing like being seen on the road!

"With BackOFF-MC installed, when you apply your brakes, it causes your brake light to automatically emit a visual alerting signal of 3 short light flashes, followed by 1 steady on light condition of 3.5 seconds." EVERYTIME you hit the brakes it's a 4 second relay. no matter if you just tap or have to brake hard for an emergency. to be the person behind, with those lights blinking in your face, i had to "back off" just because i didn't know what kind of braking was going on. i can bleed off alot of speed in the time it takes for that just to get through the blinking part. it only takes 3 taps of the brakes even for the dumbest driver to learn the pattern. boy that cried wolf sceneario. first time you really need to brake, your ass-ended. just my 3 cents.

I have used the system I have installed for at least 4 years. No such problems with getting rear ended by someone who "memorized the pattern".

Most people just focus on what gets their attention. Pretty hard to NOT pay attention to flashing turn signal lamps or a pulsating headlight. In any event, the idea is to be seen on a bike. If it gets me seen (which folks following/coming at me say it does), to me it is money well invested. Whatever the cost, it is cheaper than my life so it is worth the expense.

I agree with Fuster...you do get noticed. I mean I noticed them on a bike at a time when I had no interest in bikes at all. So it does work. If someone was to get rear ended even though they had one of these kits...I think it would be safe to say that without the kit it (the rear ending) still would have happenend, the driver CLEARLY was not paying attention. Are people with these kits going to be totally free of the possiblity of getting rear ended? Probably not, however; I don't think a cager memorizing the light pattern will have anything to do with a colision. The key to these kits is to be seen. I'm going to get them.
