defining the laws
for anyone out there like me who travells over 100 miles a day in California traffic, you would think I know the laws of the state, WELL, I was stopped by a motorcycle cop "who admitted to being new to the state" for lane splitting. I thought that the law for california is " max 10MPH over the speed of slow traffic, not to exceed 45 MPH". Is that right? Becuase that is what they are teaching at the Military Riders Course, manditory for all on base riding, and according to the california DMV riders manuel, ( which I immediatly looked up at home" one may lane split but there is no clear definitions other than it IS allowed.
I didn't get a ticket, but now everytime I pass a cop, I'm not sure if I am legal or not and I think most let me pass becuse they are in cars, stopped in traffic.
and another thing, motorcycles are allowed to lane split to the front of traffic at a stoplight, right?
