left a brown streak in my pants....

Thought I'd share the "hairy tale" I just had. I was riding through some twisties in ranch land probably a little faster than I should have been going. I rounded a corner to see a steer darting across the road from right to left . So I piled on the brakes and just for a second made the mistake of "target fixation"
at the last moment I realized what I was doing and flicked the bike to the right. I was so close to a "T-Bone" that I actually hit the steer's tail with the left front on my bike.

I think you can take away at least two lessons here.
1. always use caution
2. don't target fixate or you will hit it!

I was very lucky getting away with a couple of STUPID mistakes!

Whew!! Glad you are ok. I came around a corner getting on to 80 from 33 in PA and there was a BEAR in the road. Luckily, the corner was wide enough for me to slow down while he darted up the hill probably onto the Eastbound lane of 80.
Never know what you will see out there......lol
Ride safe!

Target fixation not good!

My own experience here.. this weekend I follow a fellow rider who went hot around a tight right hander.. who was following another fellow rider who himself went hot through the corner as well!

1st rider crossed the double yellow.. 2nd rider managed to not cross the double yellow.. I crossed the double yellow with the front chirping before I was able to dip the bike back into the turn

Seat is ok except for the mysterious crease on the middle?!

It's weird how that target fixation thing works isn't? I'm glad to hear all that happened was was a love tap from his tail & a good advertisment for adult diapers
I can see the commercial now........ for those unexpected moments when bowel control is tested beyond your worse nightmares
