Thumbs up Kudos to The Tankslapper.com

A few weeks back, I figured I'd give the Tankslapper clear tank protector a try. While I didn't find the installation too terribly difficult, and was quite satisfied with the end product, here is an e-mail that I just received from their customer service department. Service such as this is what makes for return customers and referrals, and, in turn, business success. I replied to them in kind.

Dear Valued Customer,
It has just been brought to our attention that there was a problem with
the material that was used to make the last 109 Tankslapper Tank
Protectors. The wrong material was shipped to Us from our supplier and is
so slightly different it took Us a while to catch. The material shipped is
not quite as pliable and has a very slight purple Hue to it. It turns out that it
has an extra coating applied that preps that material for printing. Even though it is
described as the same thickness, it feels thicker and isn't as pliable. This material
will work fine on some applications but it will be more difficult to apply in general and even fail on some applications .
Even though you might have made the product that shipped to you work, We
are going to re-make all those effected and get them shipped out as soon
as possible. The material that will be used in your new protector is
easier to apply and less visible. It also sticks better with less
effort. We deeply regret this inconvenience but will be working diligently
until the problem is completely corrected.

If you have recently ordered a Tankslapper Tank Protector, but have not received it. This is to
inform you that there will be a slight delay in shipping you're order. The manufacturer
has accepted full responsibility and will be replacing the entire shipment.
Unfortunately it will take a week or more to get here. As soon as it arrives we will
have the products cut and shipped as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for your understanding,
Don Flathau

Kyle, check it out here:

It's clear vinyl, pre-cut to the tank's lines. No adhesive, and you float it on with water and the provided squeegee. Especially on the sides of the tank, you can hardly see it. For $12.95/kit, I would have been satisfied with a lot less; I think it's a helluva bargain.

Ahhh, its like one of those vinyl window decals that you can put on and take off. Great idea damn it! Why cant I come up with something so cheap to produce and market! Nearly Pure profit!

I e-mailed them twice to ask about anything in the works for my bike. I never got a response. Bastards

Don't try to keep up with my life, you'll only get hurt.
