Default Keith Code or Schwantz School?

Lucky and I are having a tough time trying to decide which one to do. I know that some of you expressed interest in Keith Code. Lucky and I were hoping to go with everyone as a group, but it seems some want to go to one over the other. EIther that or vacation restraints or money restraints. So lets vote to see which one has more interest.

If you could state the reasons why you prefer one over the other that would be great as well.

You need to add a "both" to the poll as a selection.

I am interested in doing both. I simply want to do the KC class first, feeling that I would then get more out of the KS class.

I agree - I'm totally confused now. Do we know someone who has done Schwantz? Keith Code has a list of all the people he's trained. I'm trying to decide if Kevin Schwantz is an elitest school for wealthy racer wannabees - (sour grapes - I wouldn't mind being wealthy ) in other words - where is the best training for the money. If it's basically the same and we're paying to drool over Kevin and the awesome track - I may wait until I start playing the lotto to go. I would absolutely love to go to KSSS but it'd eat up a bunch of trackday/raceday/tires/fuel etc. money that I'd have to sacrifice some summer track time for...probably...

But I REALLY am having fun talking about it - 'cos I know I'm going to something! WOO HOO!!

Some of you might know this guy... he posted an awesome review of the KSS on another forum. I met Dave through my brother and i've done many track days with him.

Not sure if its a wide open forum or not, but it is worth a shot.

A very nice writeup.
Certainly makes me think that I am no where ready for his class though.

At first, I was going to comment on how they were riding only 5 - 1/2 hour sessions each day.

After ready about a ride around the track, maybe 5 is all anyone would be really wanting to ride.

I have been emailing to 2 people who have taken the class.

They both loved it and want to return to take the class again.

However, I think they agreed with the guy from Track addicts, that they already knew how to ride on the track, but they were interested in improving and refining there techniques.

That would seem to be different from someone who has not ridden on the track before.

I am thinking that I will do the Schwantz school in the Spring of 09 then.

OH POO! That just made it worse for me... fer cryin' out loud. Webb I see your point - but WOW - Jane/Chris? Feedback? My ego is getting involved and it ALWAYS spends way too much of my money Sounds like I'd come out of Schwantz with good training for picking out lines, the track would be the dream of what Grattan could be and scare the u-no-what out of me. I think the author referred to it as sphincter (sp)control.

Where do we practice passing? Although it sounds like I wouldn't be in the position to pass anybody at KSSS.

Nelson - did we practice passing in Keith Code? I can't remember... I'm getting all my trackdays mixed up.

OTOH - Keth Code was really good too and changed the way I see a track - gave me the far ahead picture while using my peripheral vision for turning it in... I'm good on turns - I sux at braking.

I think my decision is made for going to Keven Schwantz. Seems to be the things I need to learn, putting all the information that I do know into the proper sequence and execution. That and you are eligible for a race license at the end.

Reading about Keith Codes school, only makes me wonder if it is what I need. Scchwantz sounds like it is what I really need to get to where I want to go.
