Aprilia RSV-R exhaust silencer help

I am the proud owner of Aprilia RSV-R, got it only a couple of months back from a garage sale. For the past few days I have noticing that the right exhaust silencer gets much hotter than the left. Is it normal for something going wrong with the exhaust silencer? A garage guy told me that 1 pipe gets more flow than the other so it gets much hotter. I don't have any other problem, but don't want to take it lightly. So what do you guys suggest?
